Welcome! I’m Alicia (she/her), and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
I have a BS in Psychology with a Certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies (University of Wisconsin – Madison) and an MA in Counseling and Psychological Services (Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota). I’m also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
I come from a mixed cultural background and identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, so these experiences have informed how I approach working with others. I work with adolescents and adults and help support individuals dealing with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions.
How I Work
Some of the qualities that are most important to me as a therapist are empathy, authenticity, and connection. I believe these factors help facilitate growth, insight, and healing.
I value creating a nonjudgmental space where we can form an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I want to help you feel understood and deepen your understanding of yourself.
I draw from various therapeutic approaches to best meet your unique needs. I also strive to recognize the multiple intersecting identities in your life so that I can better understand your lived experiences.
What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?
I’ve been told that I’m warm, approachable, and caring. I’m here to celebrate your successes and to be there on the hard days. I focus on each individual as a whole person while recognizing how the systems and communities they live in can shape the ways they interact with the world.
