Angela Djoumbaye, MSW, LICSW

Hi there! I am a licensed independent clinical social worker, and obtained my Masters of Social Work degree from Hunter College of NYC. My diverse experience afforded me the opportunities to work with children and families in the foster care system, veterans struggling with substance abuse and mental health symptoms, as well as those experiencing sleep challenges.

Everyone at some point in their life will face challenges. With my diverse skill set, I can help you see challenges differently so they don’t get in the way of feeling happy and fulfilled.

How I Work

I am someone who is authentic and genuine to each person’s process. I have an eclectic skill set that I individualize to each person. I am there to help people challenge their unhelpful thoughts so that they feel better and do better. I look for the ways each person can be motivated, and use that to encourage growth.

Sometimes the struggles and challenges can leave you feeling stuck. When you feel paralyzed by the pain, worry or sadness I can help you change the impact of those emotions on your life. In regards to sleep challenges, sleep sometimes does not come easily for us as adults. I can work with you to develop healthy sleep practices to improve your sleep.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

Therapy is most effective when you trust your therapist. By creating a non-judgmental space for you to share your discomfort, dedicating my energy to being authentic and genuine to the process of change, and by creating a safe space for you through my authenticity, we will build that trust together.

I will challenge you…

  • To grow through your discomfort. (Sometimes, the only way to feel better is by feeling the discomfort. – I will hold space for all the emotions that arise when you are uncomfortable.)
  • To grow for your overall well being.
