Bailey Peterson, MA, LMFT

Hi I’m Bailey (she/her/hers) and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist! Welcome to my page! I provide individual and couples therapy for adults facing a variety of issues, with a specialty focus on relationships including healthy sex and sexuality. It won’t surprise you, then, to learn that I practice from a sex positive orientation. I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminal Justice from St. Cloud State University.

I am a self proclaimed bibliophile and love to read and listen to audiobooks, everything from B.A. Paris and Fredrik Backman, to Brene Brown! I enjoy rock climbing in my free time as well as spending time with my two rescue dogs and family.

How I Work

You are brave and courageous for reaching out to start therapy! I value a collaborative approach in our work together. You are the expert on your life and I am here to help you better understand yourself and the stories you tell yourself. I want you to feel heard, safe, and comfortable in our sessions.

I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is vital for effective therapy. My goal is to help you feel empowered! I will be kind, direct, and empathetic in my feedback and help you to see patterns in your life. I strive to create a space where you can feel safe to be vulnerable and share your true self, free from fear of judgement.

I do not want you to feel intimidated by the process, so bring snacks, messy hair, comfy clothes, and just be yourself. I want you to be authentically you in our sessions! You’ll find that I’ll absolutely do the same.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

I have a passion for learning and acknowledge that I too am always looking to learn to better myself. My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself because we are all constantly changing and evolving! I have been told that I am genuine and personable, and I strive to create a safe space where you feel you are able to be authentic and open with me. I can’t wait to help you through whatever is making you feel stuck, whether it be in yourself or in the important relationships in your life. Together we will push through to the other side.

You’re going to feel strong, empowered, educated, and capable as an individual and in your relationships! I will push you towards those goals and challenge you at times in a way that feels supportive and kind. You can expect compassion, curiosity, humor, and directness as part of our work together. I practice from a sex-postive lens and discussing communication, healthy boundaries, and self-acceptance are common themes in my work. I welcome clients of all relationship styles and backgrounds.

If anything I have said resonates with you, please reach out, and we will set up a time to connect! I am looking forward to working with you!
