Brittany Kerr, MSW, LICSW

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing individual and couples therapy. I have experience helping people manage and overcome a variety of issues including somatic challenges (problems with your physical body), anxiety disorders, depression, trauma histories, eating disorders, relationship conflicts, and more.

I received my Bachelors in social work from Winona State University and subsequently my Masters in social work from the University of Denver. I am passionate about helping clients throughout their mental health journey because I know how tough, amazing, and worthwhile it can be!

How I Work

I help to encourage positive growth in my clients’ lives through working with them to be more flexible and confident in the solutions they find. I recognize that you are the expert in your own life. That said, working with me means learning and trying out new things, because if you could have figured this out on your own, you already would have! I start by being open and inquisitive, because this allows us both to better understand how you’ve gotten to where you are today. Then I use cognitive strategies to help shift your perspectives of thinking from potentially damaging to uplifting. I also bring tools like education, identifying patterns, and other exercises to see what’s effective in helping you be a better version of yourself.

I believe that beneficial therapy only comes from a place of mutual trust and respect. Thank you for taking the time to look for the right therapist for YOU. That’s a big step towards a healthier future.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

I see the courage in you right from the start, right as you’re reading this sentence. Because I know that seeking healing in a therapeutic setting is a courageous move. Another important aspect of my work with clients is that I fully believe in the connection between the Mind and Body, and I will encourage nourishment and care to your physical self while you’re seeking psychological wellness.

Together we will work on getting you to a place of health and healing, freeing you from any barriers that are keeping you from being your true and authentic self. When you need someone who understands you, who is kind, who is invested in your success, who will actively work with you to meet your goals, I will be here. When you’re ready and motivated to make a change in your life, let me know and we’ll get started on that journey.
