Carol Strand, MA, LMFT, ATR

Hello, I am excited to meet you. My name is Carol Strand, my pronouns are she/her. I am a Registered Art Therapist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I also identify as neurospicy, queer, and a self proclaimed weirdo. I love supporting folks as they figure out their strengths and heal from societal rules and expectations.

Outside of work, I continue to practice a creative life that includes gardening, sewing, getting messy with paint and paper, performing at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, and making my friends laugh.

How I Work

I have a laid back style that allows for the client to set the pace. I use a lot of humor (and some swearing, when appropriate) to create a neurodiverse affirming safe space, where clients can feel free to be their authentic selves. I love using art to explore emotions, especially when words are hard. The quirky in me recognizes, and celebrates, the quirky in you!

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

I will encourage you with humor and stories of eating an elephant. I look at the world with joy while also recognizing it is on fire. I am passionate about holding space for you and meeting you where you are on your journey. Let’s walk together for a bit, I’ll bring the snacks.
