Welcome! My name is Nakumbe and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor as well as a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor. I hold a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and a Master’s degree in Addiction Counseling, along with 15+ years of experience in mental health. I specialize in providing counseling services to adolescents (ages 13-17), young adults, individual adults, and couples. Additionally, I offer specialized treatments for highly sensitive persons and individuals dealing with addiction, childhood trauma, and emotional intensity. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable enough to share your personal experiences, emotions, and thoughts. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. Looking forward to embarking on this journey of growth and healing with you.

How I Work

How I work is focused on helping you gain insight into your experiences and providing you with practical tools to help you manage your emotions and thoughts. In our sessions, we’ll explore your feelings and experiences in depth, using a variety of techniques to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself. From there, we’ll work together to develop a plan for achieving your goals, with a focus on using strategies you can apply in your everyday life. Throughout the process, I’ll provide you with feedback, support, and guidance, always keeping your needs and interests in mind. My goal is to create a collaborative relationship where we work together to help you achieve your goals and live your best life possible.
