Heather Juno, MSW, LICSW

Hey! I’m Heather. I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m excited to meet you!

I hold a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Alaska – Fairbanks. I’m also a board–certified clinical supervisor in both Oregon and Minnesota. I’ve had extra training in serving the LGBTQ+ community, and I’m the proud parent of a trans youth.

I work with adults and older adolescents with a focus on trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, general quagmires, the sandwich years, and even “My life could be better!” I utilize aspects of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. I’m excited to explore all the things, find connections, and help you find a new path towards your best life.

In my free time, I like to putter around my house, travel, and spend time with my husband and two sons. I’m a recent transplant to Minnesota! I was born and raised in Alaska and grew up on the West Coast. (Hey, PNW!) I like skulls, Taylor Swift, young adult fiction, ravens, and spending time in other cultures. I love interacting with furries, and I’m always on the prowl for a good junk shop.

How I Work

The first session with me will involve getting to know you and what’s bringing you in. We’ll spend some time gathering background information, determining what we’re going to work on together, and deciding on treatment goals. After that, it’s up to you! Each session, we’ll touch base on goal progress and whatever else you need or want to work on. It’s okay if you come in and need to pivot to an unrelated crisis you had last week. The sessions belong to you and are intended to address what you need today.

I love finding ways to incorporate your unique perspective into the challenges: Do you love Bob’s Burgers? Are you a Linda or a Tina? Do you love belting out to Bad Bunny as a coping tool? Are you thinking about telling your workmates your new pronouns but feel a little nervous? Let’s get to work!

My style is open and curious, and I like to include humor when it works. I love sessions to feel comfortable and conversational. I’m always open to feedback. If something isn’t working, let me know so we can try something new! Making changes is hard. My goal is to support you and help you stay motivated.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

You’re going to find fidget toys and good coloring books in my office. It’s okay to swear in my office or get really intense. I won’t shy away. I’m good at finding humor in situations, and my super power is being able to find the gift in really difficult situations.
