Jennifer Hahn, MA, LPCC

Please call me Jen (she/her/hers)! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Master of Arts (MA) in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I’m a Minnesota transplant and a die-hard Michigan Wolverine, I love plants, and my three animals (a pom-shih, a shih-poo, and a long-haired tortie cat) make appearances in my video sessions. I provide individual (and occasionally family) therapy for adolescents and adults facing a wide variety of issues. My specialty focus is helping those who have experienced adversity in their lives, including painful growing up experiences like household dysfunction, emotional and physical neglect, abuse, and generational trauma.

How I Work

I try to provide the type of therapy that best fits you. My biggest priority is that you feel safe, seen, heard, and valued in our sessions. Our genuine connection underlies your ability to explore yourself and your world with curiosity and gentleness. You and I will work together as partners to decide where to go and how to get there, and you will have control at every step.

I am a life-long learner, and I push myself to absorb the newest and most helpful strategies in the field of therapy. The more I learn, the more I can offer you! I am trained in specialized trauma treatments (EMDR and TF-CBT) to help you heal and move on from your past as quickly as possible, and I am adding new treatments to my practice every day. No matter what you’re looking for, we can get there together.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

I’m definitely not your standard ‘and how does that make you feel?’ therapist (although I will ask you how that makes you feel…) I would describe me as direct, transparent, authentic, and quirky. I show up physically and mentally every day, and I bring my whole self into every session. I’m also a challenger (Enneagram type 8). I enjoy taking on challenges, and I enjoy giving you opportunities to challenge and exceed yourself. I have a vision for who you can be, and I get excited about getting you there. I will definitely push you! And, I know you can handle it.
