Hello! My name is Jonathan Guzman, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor through the state of Minnesota. I received my Masters in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University, and I am so honored to accompany you or your loved one on this journey. I specialize in mental and emotional care for adolescents and adults. If that is you, and you are interested in individual, family, or couples counseling that is driven by your unique needs, we might be a good fit!

How I Work

A typical session might begin with identifying the highs and lows of the last week followed by a discussion of anything that is immediately pressing or weighing on your heart. From there, I usually offer suggestions for areas of focus. These areas may include practical ideas for coping, communication, or individualized goal setting. I have two intentions when it comes to your mental and emotional care. The first is that you walk away with practical tools to assist you in your everyday life. The second is that you leave the session with a better sense of peace, direction, and balance than you had when you came in. If either or both of those things are true by the end of our time together, then I have done my job as a counselor.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

I do not have all the answers, but I am an excellent listener. I will help you process thoughts and emotions, confront life’s challenges, and work toward a future that is healthy, balanced, and hopeful. My intention is not to simply give advice, but to ask the questions that lead you to your own revelations and resolutions.
