Hello, welcome! I’m Megan and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I work individually with adolescents, young adults, and and my specialty is working with those that have experienced trauma. I have a Masters in Counseling from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Bachelors in Community Psychology and Chemical Dependency from St. Cloud State University.

How I Work

As a therapist you will find that I am personable, direct, validating and down to earth. I’m here to help increase your insights into where problems may be stemming from, find out what may be keeping you stuck, and get to work with you on how we can make big changes for you in your life!

I am a trauma-informed therapist, meaning that I take the context of your life experiences and history into consideration when working to understand what may underlie the challenges you’re facing. We will use this context to look for patterns and draw connections, from where they began in your life to how they show up for you now. Better understanding these connections helps you to grow your self-compassion, as it replaces any guilt and shame you might have carried with you.

I am trained in EMDR and prolonged exposure to help treat trauma-related symptoms. We can integrate these approaches in our work together, building your sense of safety and control as we move forward at your own pace.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

You will never feel judged or pathologized in our work together, and I promise to avoid the therapist jargon that can be off-putting. I work hard to create a space of acceptance that will help you to find and grow your sense of empowerment. My clients have given me feedback that I am genuine, honest, and that they feel heard in our sessions.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I look forward to working with you!
