Poiab Vue, MSW, LICSW

Hello! My name is Poiab (Pie-e-ah) Vue and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I am originally from Wisconsin and moved here in 2018. As a Wisconsinite, I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008 (Go Badgers!) with my Masters Degree in Social Work. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are ready to uncover their inner strengths and improve their lives.

How I Work

I use a smile, warmth, and encouragement during our first meeting to show you that taking that big first step to therapy may be scary, but doing scary things makes you brave! We will build a relationship where you feel safe, heard, supported, and understood. With that as our foundation, we can do the transformative work of therapy! You will learn to see yourself and understand yourself differently. Your strengths will be more clear to you, and you can be more compassionate with yourself about the areas that aren’t strengths. From there, you can make different decisions about how you think and behave. All those changes work together to create and sustain the life you envision for yourself.

What Sets Me Apart As a Therapist?

As someone who is bicultural and bilingual, I understand the challenges of growing up in a world where you are trying to find yourself, trying to figure out where you fit between broader society and within your own culture, and trying to understand and embrace your identity all at the same time. Sheesh… it’s a lot! I’ve been there, I’ve done the work, and I can help you do the work also.

As your therapist I will use humor, empathy, and compassion throughout our work together. You will find me to be authentic and transparent, particularly when a situation needs to be challenged or changed.
