Affinity’s Mission and Vision

We LOVE our work! (It is an actual requirement of working here – no joke.) Helping clients transform their lives is our specialty, and we are good at what we do.

We know there is stigma around “going to see a therapist” or “going on meds.” Our belief is that the best way to break down that stigma is to provide a level of service that clients are actually excited to tell their family and friends about (and they do!). From the very first time you contact us, all the way through the end of your time here, we are confident you will feel our commitment to providing excellent care.

Our mission and vision establishes the foundation of what we believe excellent care is. These five statements outline the standards we hold ourselves to, and we think they are the expectations that clients and the community have of us as well.

Value and promote inclusion.

All are welcome here. Because being tolerant isn’t nearly good enough, our providers celebrate difference and diversity of experience. We are curious and accepting of people’s individual stories and experiences. On our staff and in our work, we are mindful of the roles that power and privilege play. It is important to us that we remain aware of our biases and acknowledge our blind spots. We take responsibility for educating ourselves, and we are humble about what we have yet to learn.

Reduce barriers to care.

We make it as easy as possible for clients to access our services. Potential clients can see our calendars in real time and schedule online, right at the moment they’re ready, without having to play phone tag with a front desk person. We are pro-insurance, so even if a client’s insurance coverage changes, we are likely to be able to continue seeing them. We value transparency and responsiveness in all that we do, which helps clients feel empowered to make good decisions about their care.

Be modern.

We strive to be current, from the clinical approaches we use to the way our business systems work. Our clinicians are much more likely to work with clients from a relational, strengths-based, or solution-oriented approach than they are to psychoanalyze them. When interacting with our office, clients can digitally manage virtually everything, from scheduling to billing to contacting their provider. We can even offer teletherapy on snow days or sick days so that clients can stay consistent with their care.

Create an amazing atmosphere.

We are all about ambiance and good energy here. For the benefit of our clients, and for ourselves, we take responsibility for contributing to a space that feels good to be in. Clients are welcomed to our waiting room with a snack bar, guest wifi, and upbeat music. Our offices are thoughtfully and tastefully designed with both function and aesthetics in mind. And when we come to get clients from the waiting room, they see that our energy is positive as well because we genuinely enjoy the work we’re doing.

Do great work.

This is critical, because without this we are all talk with no walk. The clinicians at Affinity are competent, confident providers who are smart, passionate, and engaged professionals. We are constantly honing our craft in order to provide the best services possible to our clients. We have a clear sense of what we’re good at and who we can help. We are right there alongside our clients – working with them, giving feedback, invested in their goals, and celebrating their victories. It can’t be said enough – we truly love what we do!
